Early Inspirations: Crayons and Pencils
“When did your passion for art start?”
“I honestly can't remember a time when I wasn't drawing, scribbling, or sketching something. As a child, crayons and colored pencils were my constant companions. I doodled on any surface I could find! It was my way of making sense of the world around me, and thankfully, that hasn't changed to this day. Art has always been my go-to language, my safe space, and my way of telling stories without words.”
Nature’s Impact on Creativity
“What inspires your art?”
“I find inspiration everywhere, but nature has always been my biggest muse. There's something about water that completely draws me in. You'll find a lot of seascapes in my work because I'm fascinated by the way the light plays on the waves. The ocean is never the same twice. I also have a deep love for flowers and birds. Their colors, forms, and energy often find their way into my paintings. There's a certain rhythm in nature that speaks to me, and I try to capture that in my art.”
Alongside nature, spirituality serves as a profound source of inspiration. I feel deeply connected to the unseen, to the energy that flows between the Earth and the divine. Some of my paintings, especially my Sufi-inspired works, reflect that connection. They serve as a visual expression of the soul's longing for something greater.

Cultural Influences: India, Colors, and Spirituality
“How much of your country’s culture is in your works?”
Spirituality, nature, and bright colors form the heart of my Indian influence. The bold, expressive hues reflect the energy and warmth of Indian life. Meanwhile, my spiritual themes echo the country’s profound connection to faith and philosophy.
Choosing Colors: Nature as the Guide
“How do you select your colors?”
I always look to nature for the best color combinations. There's no better artist than God! The way the sky shifts at sunrise, the unexpected contrasts in a flower, or the depth of blues in the ocean—these inspire my palette.
Beyond the hues of nature, my color choices are also intuitive. When I sit before the canvas, my emotions guide me. Some days I feel drawn to soothing pastels; other times I opt for bold, fiery tones. It's like a conversation between my inner world and the canvas, where colors become an unspoken expression of how I feel in that moment.
Travel as a Source of Inspiration
“In what ways does travel influence your art?”
“Travel has profoundly impacted my art, shaping both my themes and my perspective as an artist. India has given me a strong foundation in color, spirituality, and storytelling. My seascapes, which I paint regularly, are indeed a result of my time in Australia. Then there's Dubai—a city where cultures from all over the world intersect. Living here has expanded my creative horizons, allowing me to blend tradition with contemporary influences.”
Essential Tools for Creation
“What are the essential tools you can't do without?”
“My artist sea sponge and palette knives are absolute essentials. However, I also love to experiment with unconventional tools like a simple dish scrubber or even a piece of fabric. Anything can be a useful tool in art if you're willing to innovate!”
Challenges on the Artistic Journey
“What challenges have you faced during your artistic journey?”
“Being an artist comes with its challenges. Expensive art supplies are definitely one—quality materials can make a huge difference, but they aren't cheap! Then there's the task of getting your work in front of the right audience. Networking with galleries can be a long and frustrating process, and many galleries charge high commissions, making pricing tricky.
One significant hurdle is finding the right connoisseur. I seek someone who truly values the time, effort, and soul that goes into a painting. This person is willing to pay an artist-led price instead of just pursuing a bargain.
Despite these obstacles, my love for creating keeps me going. The joy of seeing a piece resonate with someone makes all the challenges worthwhile! My art journey has led me to exhibit at various galleries and events in Australia, India, and Dubai—such as Lilly Lee Gallery (Brisbane), World Art Dubai, Artezaar, Dubai International Art Centre, Color Palette Art Gallery of Light, and DUCTAC, as well as the Ekatra Exhibition at the Indian Consulate. I am proud of every step I took despite all the challenges!”

A Message for Aspiring Artists
“Believe in yourself and keep creating. Consistency is everything! The art world can be challenging, but if you stay true to your passion and keep pushing forward, you'll carve your own path. Also, embrace modern tools! Utilize technology to showcase and sell your work—whether it's through social media, online galleries, or digital platforms. These can make a huge difference in reaching the right audience. Learning to market yourself is just as important as creating. Most importantly, enjoy the process! Art is a journey, and every piece you create adds to your story!”
